SSS Classic Backup Guide: The Original Whole Home Editor

Classic Backup is the original profile editor. It remains available as a real fallback, but it is not another Studio workspace.

Big difference: Classic Backup saves changes directly to your public Whole Home. It does not make a Private Draft.

When Classic Backup is useful

  • Studio is temporarily unavailable and you need a small Whole Home fix.
  • You prefer the original form and understand that changes become public.
  • An older image or setting is easier to update there.
  • You want to read its older setting descriptions while learning.

Automatic saving

  1. Change one setting.
  2. Wait for Saving to become Saved.
  3. Open your public Whole Home and check the result.
  4. Continue one useful change at a time.
Saved does not mean private. Classic Backup has already changed the public Whole Home.

Whole Home only

Classic Backup does not know which Room you are trying to edit. A Whole Home change can appear in every Room that follows Whole Home.

  • Do not use Classic Backup to fix only Home, Wall, Blogs, Photos, or another Room.
  • Use Studio for Room-only changes.
  • Use Studio when you need Preview, publish destinations, copying, or Room restore tools.

Classic Backup can keep its useful descriptions, but members no longer need two main editors just to keep those explanations.

Switching between Studio and Classic Backup

  • Wait for the current editor to finish saving before opening the other one.
  • Remember that Classic Backup changes Whole Home right away.
  • Reload Studio after a Classic Backup change.
  • Avoid editing the same setting in both editors at the same time.

Yes.

When should a new member use it?

Usually only when Studio is unavailable or the member strongly prefers the original workflow.
