SSS Layout Guide: Move, Arrange & Show Profile Sections

Layout changes where supported profile sections appear. Use it for order, position, and visibility. Use Studio Editor for colors and effects.

Easy rule: Layout moves the furniture. Studio Editor changes how the furniture looks.

How to use Layout

  1. Choose Whole Home or a Room.
  2. Select the section you want to move.
  3. Choose an allowed area, or use the move controls.
  4. Use Show or Hide when that choice is available.
  5. Save the Layout Private Draft.
  6. Preview on desktop and phone.
  7. Open Code only when Layout says CSS needs checking.
  8. Publish the correct destination.

The nine Layout areas

Keep current spot

Leave the section where SSS normally places it.

Above the header

Show it before the member header.

Under the header

Show it just below the member header.

Inside the glass panel

Place it with music, visitors, and profile tools.

Under the glass panel

Show it after the glass panel.

Under the feed

Show it after the main profile content.

Left column

Place it in the left side column.

Main column

Place it in the center column.

Right column

Place it in the right side column.

Sections you can move

Layout moves only SSS sections that have been prepared for safe moving. Current choices include:

Profile headerTop navigationProfile tabsSlot AMusic and visitors panelLeft profile widgetsAbout widgetBadges widgetQuests widgetFriends widgetActivity feedRight profile widgetsStream widgetSocietyStars widgetPhotos widgetGroups widgetBirthdays widgetPeople you may knowSlot BSlot C
Why this matters: prepared sections can be moved back safely. Extra page content is left alone so it is not broken by accident.

Protected sections

  • Important profile navigation and main content stay available.
  • Some sections can move but cannot be hidden.
  • Each section has a list of areas where it is allowed to go.
  • Account, login, report, safety, and moderation tools are not part of member Layout editing.

Section styles

Layout also includes simple looks for individual sections.

When Code is needed

Moving and showing sections can save without CSS. Some section styles create CSS.

  1. Choose Send CSS to Code.
  2. Open Code.
  3. Choose Check CSS.
  4. Fix any clear problem message.
  5. Preview and publish.

Changing a Layout style after a successful check means the new CSS must be checked again.

Whole Home and Room Layouts

Whole Home

Provides the shared section order for Rooms without their own Layout.

Room Layout

Lets one Room arrange supported sections differently.

Private Draft

Layout changes stay private until published.

Safe switching

Studio finishes pending Layout saves before opening another Room.

Reset Layout

Reset Layout returns the selected Whole Home or Room to the normal section arrangement. It does not remove colors, effects, backgrounds, CSS, stickers, or the rest of the design.

Tip: make a restore point before a large Layout reset.

Common fixes

A section will not move there

That area is not allowed for the selected section. Choose one of the available areas.

Hide is unavailable

The section is protected because visitors need it.

Publish asks for Check CSS

A style choice created or changed CSS. Open Code and check it.

A Room switch stopped

A Layout save did not finish. Wait, check your connection, and try again.

Preview order differs from live

The Layout may still be private, or the wrong Room may have been published.

Reset did not remove the design

Reset Layout changes only the section arrangement.
