SSS Settings Help Center (Simply Sound Society)

Your map through the customization jungle (with fewer mosquito bites).

Simply Sound Society isn’t built like the average social platform where your “personalization” options begin and end with
a profile photo and a mildly depressing banner.
SSS profiles are mini-websites: theme presets, backgrounds that behave differently on desktop vs mobile,
section-based color systems, typography tuning, widget glass effects, navigation styling, special effects, safe HTML slots,
stickers… and yes, it all autosaves.

This help center is organized to match the exact accordion section names you see on the Settings screen,
so you never have to play the “which guide matches this thing I’m looking at?” game.

📍 Where your profile settings live

From your SSS menu, you’ll land in the “My Profile” control center, where everything branches out:

  • Profile Info (customization lives here): society.simplysoundadvice.com/members/me/settings
  • Social + Stream
  • Notifications
  • Messages
  • Friend Requests
  • Account (email, password, account settings)
  • Groups (groups, invites, membership requests)
Good to know:
If you only ever use “Profile Info,” you still get a ridiculous amount of power — but the other pages are where SSS
behaves like a full platform, not just a profile editor.

🧠 The mental model that prevents chaos

SSS customization is easiest when you think in layers:

  1. Theme Selection (baseline identity)
  2. Background (atmosphere + readability)
  3. Colors (cohesion + contrast)
  4. Typography (legibility + vibe)
  5. Everything else (widgets, borders, nav, buttons, effects, etc.)
Why this order matters:
Theme → Background → Colors gives you a “coherent base.”
If you skip the base and jump straight to effects, the effects just amplify the chaos.

⚡ Make it look good in 3 minutes

If you want a fast win before you read anything else, do this:

  1. Theme Selection → Profile Style Preset
Pick a preset (or keep “None” if building from scratch).
  2. Background → Profile Background Image
    Paste a direct image URL.
  3. Background → Background Overlay Strength
If your background is bright/busy, add overlay so text doesn’t vanish.
  4. Colors → Profile Block Background Color + Typography → Profile Text Color
Set blocks and text to something readable.
That’s the “base build.”
Four settings can make a profile look intentional. Everything after that is just polishing.

💾 What “autosave” actually means here

Most settings in Profile Info save automatically after a few seconds.
You’ll see a Saving… → Saved! indicator so you’re not guessing.

Best workflow:
Change one thing → wait for Saved → then change the next thing.
(This prevents the classic “what did I break?” spiral.)

If something looks off, undo your last change and save again.
SSS is built for experimenting — just do it one move at a time.
