Notifications + Messages + Friend Requests
These three pages are your “social inbox.” If something happens (a like, a comment, a message, or a friend request),
this is where you see it and respond.
📍 Where to find these pages
- My Profile → Notifications
- My Profile → Messages
- My Profile → Friend Requests
Quick habit that saves you stress:
Check Notifications first (what happened) → then Messages (who said what) → then Friend Requests (who wants in).

🔔 Notifications
This image clearly shows the notifications list and any “mark read”/filter controls.
Notifications are your “event log.” You’ll see things like mentions, comments, likes/reactions, group updates,
and other activity tied to your account.
What to do here (simple)
- Open Notifications.
- Click a notification to go to the exact post/comment/event.
- If you see “mark read” options, use them to clear old items.
If you feel “spammy” notifications:
Don’t panic-scroll. Open one item, see what it is, then decide if you want to engage or ignore.

💬 Messages
This image shows the inbox/threads list and the “new message” button/entry point.
Messages are your private conversations. This is where you read messages, reply, and start new chats.
Send a new message
- Open Messages.
- Click New Message (or the compose button on your screen).
- Choose a member, type your message, then send.
Good first message formula:
“Hey! I saw you like (topic). What’s your favorite (specific thing)?”
(It’s friendly, specific, and doesn’t sound like a robot.)

Reply + stay organized
- Reply in-thread so the convo stays clean.
- Use search if you have lots of messages (if your UI shows it).
- If you see options like mute or delete, use them for noise control.
Safety note:
Never share passwords, verification codes, or personal financial info in DMs.
If something feels sketchy, disengage.

🤝 Friend Requests
This image shows incoming requests and the Accept/Decline (or similar) buttons.
Friend Requests are exactly what they sound like: people asking to connect. You can accept, ignore, or decline.
Accepting requests (quick filter)
- Check their profile first (posts, bio, vibe).
- If you see shared interests, accepting usually makes sense.
- If it feels random or empty, it’s okay to decline or ignore.
Simple rule:
Accept people you’d actually talk to. That’s how SSS stays fun.

🛠 Troubleshooting (fast fixes)
- Not seeing new notifications: refresh once. If you’re logged out, log in again.
- Too many notifications: use “mark read” (if shown) and focus on the newest items.
- Messages not showing: confirm you’re on the Messages page (not Notifications), and try a refresh.
- Friend request vanished: it may have been canceled by the sender or already handled.
- Something feels spammy: don’t engage. Ignore/decline, and report if your UI offers it.
Remember:
You control your connections. It’s totally normal to decline random requests.
